Rev. Matthew E. Long,
Minister, Unity of Blue Water
Rev. Matthew became our spiritual leader in fall 2011. Ordained as a Unity Minister since 1989, he has served in churches in Oregon and Michigan. He also currently serves as senior minister at Peace Unity in Clarkston.
Matthew is a member of the Association of Unity Churches International Spiritual Social Action Committee and Peace Team and the Great Lakes Unity Regional Conference's Leadership Development Team. He also serves as a Director for One Peace. Matthew and his wife Kathy have two boys Elijah, age 16, and Isaac, age 11.
Matthew’s spiritual path has led him through experiences with eastern and western mysticism: yoga, Taoism, Buddhism, as well as Mind Dynamics and the Human Potential movements. Matthew has a deep abiding love for the Bible and Unity Metaphysics. His study and meditation on the scriptures have led to his unique understanding and interpretation of Biblical stories with an enlightening and humorous spirit.
